New winter awning from Dometic

Caravan and motorhome owners who like to tour out of season, will like the new winter awning from Dometic. 

Aimed at skiers, mountaineers and tourers unfazed by the winter months, the winter awning is a first for the market. The Kampa Dometic Winter AIR PVC has a -20°C rating so you can keep out of the snow and cold outside your caravan and motorhome in comfort.

Tour all year, literally

If you enjoy winter sports, the Kampa Dometic Winter AIR PVC means you have a longer touring season in your motorhome or caravan. 

The first winter awning on the market, according to Dometic, handles sub-zero temperatures and winter weather. Made from a tough, waterproof, PVC material called Weathershield, is low maintenance too.

Easy to erect and more

Another benefit of the new winter awning is the speed you can put it up. Because it’s inflatable, you spend less time in the cold than with a pole awning. Plus, the Kampa Dometic Winter AIR PVC has ‘weather-protected’ vents which reduce condensation inside and make it more comfortable than other awnings designed for warmer months.

The awning is not entirely inflatable. It comes with some poles in the kit, which includes the following:

Use the winter awning with caravans or motorhomes

The Winter AIR PVC is unusual in that it’s compatible with caravans and motorhomes. Dometic managed this feature by using triple beading in 4 mm, 6 mm and 7 mm keder, as standard. 

Using that beading means the awning will into caravan awning rails and motorhome cassette rails. As a result, the awning fits awning connection heights on caravans and motorhomes which range between 235 cm and 265 cm.

• The taller Winter AIR 260 L costs £1,321.50 (€1,593.75)
